ABC graduate Erich Krzysztofik is now working as a Videographer/Editor for Global Winnipeg. Erich started out at Fox Sports for his practicum portion of our program. Once Erich graduated (November 2011), he worked as an editor for Fox Soccer Report. Erich is back behind the camera, now shooting video for Global News. Fox Sports and Global News are both a division of Shaw Media.

ABC GRADUATES INUNDATE EVANOV RADIO IN WINNIPEG
Congratulations to Barry Hansen who has been hired by Evanov Radio as Senior Producer at Energy 106. Barry will also be doing the afternoon news with the Breeze 100.7
Other graduates, employed with Evanov include Mark Harding, Executive Producer at the Breeze (which includes The Morning Breeze with Don Percy); Lendyll Soriano is a Producer at CKJS AM 810. Percy Smith also helps out in production. And of course there's JD Francis on-air afternoons, 3-6pm on Energy. These four graduated from the same class here at ABC.
ABC grads working in Sales include Debbie Blunderfield, Charlsey Sperl, Mark Fallis and Jay Desrossier. Jonathan Lesany is at Energy. Kristen Dyck works in Promotions (which includes Energy's facebook page.
Our newest graduate (February 2012) Mandy Shewchuk has also been hired at Energy! Way to go everyone!

Melissa completed her practicum in Dauphin at CKDM, where she was then hired. After Dauphin, Melissa returned to Winnipeg where she worked at CJOB until being hired with Streetz.

JOHN COPSEY JOINS THE ABC TEAM
ABC would like to officially welcome John Copsey to staff. John, a former broadcasting student from ABC, completed his practicum at CFAR 590 in Flin Flon. After graduation John joined the staff there as Morning Show Host, Music Director, Producer and Copywriter. Six months later he returned to Winnipeg to work for Corus Entertainment's CJOB 68 as News/Sports Anchor and General Reporter. Although John is on staff full time at ABC as an instructor, he continues to work at CJOB.

During one of my school projects I was fortunate enough to meet a wonderful lady named Cat who is one of the founders of K.I.D.S - Kenya Initiative for Development and Sustainability. K.I.D.S is an organization dedicated to helping impoverished areas of Kenya become a better place to live. In February, I will be joining Cat and her founding partner Andrea, in Kibera, Kenya. My role is to document our trip and the work being done in Kibera. Not only is this a great start to my career, but even more than that, I get to be involved with a truly special organization helping to make the world better. Special thanks to everyone at ABC!

CFRW BECOMES SPORTS RADIO 1290
As reported on thecurler.com, Monday, September 27, 2010 CFRW became SPORTS RADIO 1290. Jordan Bauldic, who is currently attending the Academy of Broadcasting Corporation, has aspirations in sports broadcasting and RockTalk will be his first regular on-air assignment as he works toward that future. Bauldic's youth and enthusiasm for curling, as well as his recent competitive experience will bring a new perspective to the show. RockTalk with Resby Coutts will begin Wednesday, October 20 on Sports Radio 1290.
