Tim Salzen

Radio & Television Broadcasting Faculty Director

Tim's career in media and media education spans more than twenty years.  He has done everything one possibly can in television news short of cutting the grass at the transmitter.  Tim applies his experience as a writer, producer, news reporter, tv anchor, talk show host, video editor and videographer every day in his job, training students at ABC.  But Tim is not just a trainer...he believes he is also a learner...one who understands that what goes on at ABC every day isn't just a one-way, teacher to student process.  Tim holds a BA degree from the University of Winnipeg, a diploma in radio and TV from an Ontario community college and an accredited certificate in adult education from St. Francis Xavier University.

Brad James

Radio & Television Broadcasting Instructor

Since the 80's Brad has spent time on air as a personality in Winnipeg along with stops in Saskatchewan and Ontario working as a Program Director. He's also played around in news and sales, but his true love is radio production and voice-over work. "Becoming a Program Director was certainly a personal high. It gave me the chance to share and learn. ABC is such a natural fit. I get to combine two things I love, creative radio production and showing students how to achieve the same." Brad enjoys small town life with his wife Candace just south of Winnipeg. "Five cats and an extremely self-centered 14-year German Sheppard run my life at home, but I can't imagine not having fur in my life."

Duncan MacPhail

Radio & Television Broadcasting Instructor

The exhilarating world of broadcasting attracted Duncan to its industry close to 20 years ago. Duncan has been honoured to spend his entire career honing his craft in the Winnipeg market with 92 CITI FM / 102 CLEAR FM & FREQ 107. Being a professional in the field of announcing/ promotions/ marketing / public relations and sales, "Dunc" has a full understanding of what it takes to have a well rounded and prosperous career in Broadcast Media. By joining the already extensive list of qualified instructors here at The Academy of Broadcasting, Duncan will utilize his passion for the industry, along with his extensive experience to direct his students down the same fulfilling and rewarding career path that he has had the privilege to encounter.
