Our goal is to help you develop the knowledge and skills necessary to launch a successful radio and/or television broadcasting career as an on-air announcer, writer, sales representative, camera operator, audio or video technician, production assistant, or promotions coordinator.

After one year the Academy of Acting students, are not just actors, they become changed people. The intensive program delivers lessons from every angle of acting, including; Acting Theory, Audition Skills, On-Set Experience, Making a Film and so much more. Taught by award-winning instructors who are involved in the industry and known all over Canada, you are not only receiving lessons on how-to-act, you will also learn the business side of acting and job search techniques.
Media Writing program:
The face of media is rapidly changing, and professionals in the field are constantly seeking ways to widen the scope of their abilities in order to stay up-to-date with the current expectation of a media-savvy audience. Every change in technology creates new positions and possibilities within the media field. The goal of this eight month Media Writing program is to help students hone and develop their skills in various media fields, including social media marketing, graphic design, self-promotion, documentary production, time management, and a strong emphasis on journalism and other professional writing skills.
The Media Writing program will produce graduates who are strong writers with an understanding of various media technologies, are well-versed in pop-culture media expectations, and can work in various forms of media, from newspapers to communications departments, as publicists and writers, script-writers and editors, and will have the versatility to take on new tasks with bold confidence.

JOHN COPSEY JOINS THE ABC TEAM
ABC would like to officially welcome John Copsey to staff. John, a former broadcasting student from ABC, completed his practicum at CFAR 590 in Flin Flon. After graduation John joined the staff there as Morning Show Host, Music Director, Producer and Copywriter. Six months later he returned to Winnipeg to work for Corus Entertainment's CJOB 68 as News/Sports Anchor and General Reporter. Although John is on staff full time at ABC as an instructor, he continues to work at CJOB.

K.I.D.S is an organization dedicated to helping impoverished areas of Kenya become a better place to live. In February, I will be joining Cat and her founding partner Andrea, in Kibera, Kenya. My role is to document our trip and the work being done in Kibera. As reported on thecurler.com, Monday, September 27, 2010 CFRW became SPORTS RADIO 1290. Jordan Bauldic, who is currently attending the Academy of Broadcasting Corporation, has aspirations in sports broadcasting and RockTalk will be his first regular on-air assignment as he works toward that future. Bauldic's youth and enthusiasm for curling, as well as his recent competitive experience will bring a new perspective to the show. RockTalk with Resby Coutts will begin Wednesday, October 20 on Sports Radio 1290.
